The political leader of the opposition People’s Liberation Party, Dr. Daniel E. Cassell has hailed the Collaborating Political Parties (CPP) for the successful turning over ceremony in which the Chairperson of Liberty Party, Senator Nyonblee Karnga-Lawrence, successfully turned over the leadership to the Standard Bearer and political leader of the Unity Party, Ambassador Joseph Nyuma Boakai, in keeping with the arrangement that calls for the four political leaders of the constituent parties to head the CPP on a rotational basis, eight months each.

Making a brief statement at programs held Friday, October 15, 2021, at the National Headquarters of the Unity Party in Congo Town, Monrovia, Dr. Cassell said the PLP was grateful to God in providing the opportunity for opposition political parties to gather as Liberians to grace the turning over ceremony of the CPP.

Dr. Cassell expressed profound gratitude on behalf of the leadership and the entire membership of PLP for the invitation extended to them to participate in the program which he described as a historic event for the opposition bloc, an event which he noted as demonstrably responsible.

The PLP vision bearer who was rousingly welcomed by partisans of CPP said it was a privilege that the PLP embraced the honor, in the spirit of unity and diversity, nationalism and patriotism.

“I congratulate my traditional uncle Ambassador Joseph Nyumah Boakai for his selection as Standard Bearer of the Unity Party towards the process leading to the selection of the CPP sole Presidential ticket,” Dr. Cassell enthused.

The ceremony which brought together thousands of partisans from constituent political parties, also attracted the opposition community, including the Rainbow Alliance, the People’s Unification Party (PUP), and the People’s Liberation Party.

The Collaborating Political Parties includes, the Liberty Party, All Liberian Party (ALP) of Mr. Benoni W. Urey Alternatives National Congress (ANC) of Alexander B. Cummings, and the Unity Party. The Collaboration is expected to shortly go for primaries to enable them select a presidential candidate that will head the CPP ticket in 2023. Already, UP and the ANC have presented their standard bearers for the selection processes.
