MONROVIA – Liberia Ambassador and Special Presidential Envoy on Tourism Christopher Hayes Onanuga has emphasized President Joseph N. Boakai’s commitment to a unified Liberia through the media.

Speaking at the Presidential Media Dinner night on Thursday, April 10, 2025, Ambassador Christopher Hayes Onanuga said, “This is the president who is meeting journalist during this august occasion that will take place every year after now.”

Amb Onanuga told journalists that the president invited everyone to the occasion to know that his singular purpose is to keep citizens united in Liberia, something “we all are yearning for”.

Recognizing one of Liberia’s longtime journalists Mr. Kenneh Y. Best at the presidential media gathering, the Liberia Tourism Ambassador Onauga said, “I have very little to say, as I recognized the veteran. We all know when we are talking about The Observer, he is an epitome of the reality of what journalism is in Liberia”.

“So, on this note, I would like say thank you for coming, for honoring the invitation of the President who intend to tell you how beautiful it is when we commute together as a people patriotically with unionism of purpose to build Liberia to where it should be,” he said.

“On this note, we can see that, in this hall, it is glaring that there is no division among us here; we might have our differences of tune ideologically but the purpose we are united for is one Liberia,” he said.

It can be recalled that on last week Thursday, April 10, 2025, the Liberian leader hosted a dinner night for Liberian journalists across the country.

The presidential media dinner night which brought together journalists and officials of government at the Ellen Johnson Sirleaf Ministerial Complex in Congo marked the first media engagement of President Boakai since the inception of the Unity Party government on January 22, 2024.
