By approval of the President of the Republic of Liberia, His Excellency Dr. George Manneh Weah, the Acting Minister of Foreign Affairs Honorable Henry B. Fahnbulleh has appointed Mr. Joseph W. Mendin as Director of Passports & Visas, at the Division of Passports and Visas, Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
According to a Foreign Ministry release, Mr. Mendin’s appointment takes immediate effect.
“I am pleased to inform you that President George Manneh Weah has approved of your appointment as Director of Passport and Visas at the Division of Passport & Visas, Ministry of Foreign Affairs”, Acting Foreign Minister Fahnbulleh declared .
In his appointment Letter to Mr. Mendin, Acting Minister FahnbulIeh challenged the incoming Passport Director to ensure an effective and efficient management of the Division of Passports & Visas in order to provide quality services to the Liberian public.
The Acting Minister also urged Director Mendin to assist in the detection and prevention of fraud in obtaining the Liberian passports / Visas.
Acting Minister Fahnbulleh then expressed confidence that the new Passport Director will perform his duty with loyalty, honesty and commitment while ensuring that the interest of Liberia is served at all times.
Honorable Mendin comes to the position with immense worth of experience. Mr. Mendin previously served in several capacities at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs including Diplomatic V.I.P Security Agent, Division of Security; Computer Operator, bureau of Passports and Visas; Data clerk bureau of passports, Deputy Director of Passports, bureau of Passports & Visas amongst others.
Mr. Joseph Mendin, holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Sociology with minor in Public Administration from the University of Liberia; post graduate diploma in International Relations, Gabriel L. Dennis Foreign Service Institute, Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Certificate in Computer Science. The new passports Director joined the ministry since 2000.
