NEC Condemns, Dismisses Ad Hoc Staff -For Attack On Spoon TV Journalist

MONROVIA – The National Elections Commission (NEC) has condemned in its strongest terms possible, the physical attack on a journalist, Diamond Slanger of the Spoon TV Network by one of its temporary Electoral Supervisor, Thomas Bryant, and has immediately dismissed him from the services of the commission. 

In a statement issued yesterday by the Commission and signed by Prince Dunbar, Deputy Director for Communication, NEC apologized to the management and staff of Spoon Communication Network for the incident which occurred Tuesday at the Love Valley Academy, which code number 30381 is located in the Airfield Community.

In the statement, NEC reminded all of the temporary staff of its zero tolerance policy against violence and acts that have the propensity to affect the work and image of the Commission.

“The NEC assures the public that it will not condone any act of violence or assault by any of its temporary or permanent staff”, the statement said.
