MOMENTOUS BUILDUP TO ‘ENOUGH IS ENOUGH’ PROTEST -Leadership Expands as Thousands of Liberians Await July 17

MONROVIA – What organizers of the July 17, 2025 people’s uprising called the largest protest since April 14, 1979 is putting up features of momentous buildup, with grassroots mobilization spreading across the nation. Concurrently, a number of known Liberian social and political activists are reportedly trooping to get enlisted as crusaders of the national event, registering their intent to help lead the parade, as The Analyst reports.    

The Solidarity & Trust for a New Day (STAND) has reported that thousands of awakened patriots rallying under the powerful authority of Liberia’s constitutional preamble, “WE THE PEOPLE,” are proudly announcing their entry into frontline leadership for the historic July 17th “ENOUGH IS ENOUGH” nationwide protest.

Hailed both at home and across the diaspora as the Mother of All Protests, STAND which is less than two years old, has fast becoming an unstoppable movement signaling a decisive turning point in the people’s fight to liberate Liberia from the clutches of corruption, lawlessness, and betrayal.

As Liberians mobilize to confront a government burdened by unfulfilled promises, entrenched corruption, nepotism, judicial interference, human rights violations, and repeated constitutional breaches, the organizers of the July 17th “ENOUGH IS ENOUGH” peaceful protest have appointed some of the nation’s most respected patriots, distinguished intellectuals, and credible human rights advocates to key leadership roles.

Those appointed are Samuel B. Jacobs, ‘Academic & Think-Tank Engagement Officer’, and William W. Broh, appointed ‘Diaspora Liaison Officer. Jacobs is a distinguished scholar, former national debate coach, double master’s graduate of Northwestern Law School, and double PhD candidate at Cornell and Liberty Universities. He brings intellectual firepower to the movement’s policy and research frontlines.

Broh, also known as “Slim-King,” is a fearless activist and revolutionary voice from the Liberian community in France, committed to international solidarity in the fight for justice across Africa.

Also appointed is Titus B. Pakalah, ‘National Protest Director’, is a renowned human rights advocate, with a record of combating sexual and gender-based violence and pushing for policy reforms. He brings strategic grassroots mobilization and proven leadership to this nationwide action.

Rev. Festus R.B. Logan is appointed ‘Logistics & Operations Manager’. He is a revered man of God, civil rights advocate, and seasoned public servant, tasked with ensuring the seamless coordination and execution of protest logistics.

STAND release issued yesterday also said George S. Tengbeh is  appointed ‘Head of Secretariat’. He is a prominent labor rights researcher and founder of the Liberia Labor and Governance Alliance (LILGA). His work has shaped national dialogue on economic justice and governance, and he will help anchor the administrative engine of the movement.

The appointments made by STAND leader Mulbah K. Morlu, Jr. are meant to strengthen a movement that is no longer just a protest but a national awakening, a thunderous call to justice, and a unified demand by the people of Liberia to end decades of political betrayal, systemic abuse, and economic hardship.

REASONS WE ARE ASSEMBLING

The STAND release also presented reasons for organizing July 17, 2025, WE THE PEOPLE project, which the organization said will rise in peaceful, defiant solidarity.

The objectives are to demand full and transparent accountability from President Joseph Boakai and his administration; compel the Boakai-led Executive to respect the independence of the Supreme Court and end its interference in judicial affairs, and to restore legislative sovereignty by halting the unlawful involvement of the President and Vice President in House leadership matters.

Other objectives enumerated by the organization for the protest are to call for an end to endemic corruption and the abuse of public trust; toight for equal justice under the law and dignity for all citizens; demand free and quality healthcare for the poor; launch a full-scale review of concession agreements to ensure fairness and tangible benefits for the Liberian people; propose constitutional reforms enabling recall elections for unethical or underperforming lawmakers; push for investment in youth education and skills training to secure Liberia’s future, and to uplift the voices of the marginalized: kehkeh riders, motorcyclists, healthcare workers, petty traders, civil servants, and victims of police brutality.

“This movement belongs to every street vendor struggling to survive, every bike & kekeh rider being denied justice, every family robbed of opportunity, every youth denied a future, and every Liberian demanding truth, dignity, and the rightful return of power to the people,” STAND emphasized.
