MONROVIA – The Congressional Black Caucus on its official visit to Liberia has honored the Minister of State for Presidential Affairs, Mr. Nathaniel Falo McFGill for his outstanding leadership quality exhibited during the official launching of the Bicentennial celebration and also felicitates with the government and people of Liberia on such a historic national occasion.
The honor which was a certificate, tagged, Congressional Recognition and signed by Madam Joyce Beathy, Chairperson of the Congressional Black Caucus was presented yesterday, Monday, February 21, 2022 to Minister McGill extolled the long lasting relationship existing between the government and people of the United States of America and Liberia.
“Liberia is a nation of rich cultural heritage that resonates globally and is a celebrated ally to the United States of America. On the occasion of the 200th anniversary commemorating, we are proud to mark the arrival of the first black Americans to Providence Island in 1822. We are also proud to forge ahead in the quest of stronger economic and social bonds between Liberians and Americans”, the letter said.
The certificate also said Liberia has long demonstrated the importance of unity and uplifting democratic principle and remains a testament to the fortitude and foresight that exists in the heart of the people of Liberia
The message continued with the assertion that the United States and Liberia share a unique history of democratic value systems, and the congressional Black Caucus applauds Liberia for its unwavering dedication to the protection and preservation of the Black people across the Diaspora.
“The members of the Congressional Black Caucus extend our sincerest congratulations to President George Manneh Weah, members of the Bicameral Liberia Upper and Lower houses, the Bicentennial Steering committee and all the people of Liberia.
“As Africa’s oldest republic, Liberia stands as a beacon of democracy and decency throughout the globe and it is the sense of the congressional Black caucus that your contributing leadership and creativity embody a spirit of excellence worthy of the admiration and commendation and commendation of the congress”, the statement concluded.
