Lutheran Women End 18th Convention -As President Campaign Fulfills Promises

MONROVIA – The 18th Annual Convention of the Monrovia District Lutheran Church Women Fellowship (MDLCWF) ended over the weekend at the Reed Memorial Lutheran Church in Millsburg Township, Montserrado County with the President of the group, Grace Towah Jarsor fulfilling her campaign promises, thus keeping to her campaign vows to the people.

According to the report from the 4-day event that brought together women from the Lutheran Church in the District in the annual gathering, Mrs. Jasor presented 100 pieces of 6 inch-mattresses bought and kitchen utensils at the cost of over USD3,000.00 which were also used during the program that lasted from Thursday, November 10 to Sunday, November 13, 2022.

“On behalf of the Leadership of the MDLCWF, I wish to express our deep thanks and appreciation to the total membership of the MDLCWF and especially to all those who made possible the 18th Annual Convention of the MDLCWF. I must particularly single out the invaluable insights, guidance, contributions and presence of a few personalities during this 18th Annual Convention. 

“We are pleased to inform you that in fulfillment of our campaign promises, we purchased 100 pieces of 6″mattresses and a number of kitchen utensils at the cost of over $3000 (three thousand US Dollars). Thanks to the whole leadership and Fundraising Committee chaired by Sister Matee J. Seaton for the hard work. In the next three days, we will furnish you with the names of individuals and Institutions who contributed to the funding as part of our way of appreciating contributors and accounting for every cent and material received. We want to acknowledge that you all contributed very well to the success of our first year in office

“I truly appreciate the confidence you reposed in my leadership and the exceptional love you showered on us during the year and especially during the Convention”, Madam Jasor said in her brief speech delivered to the convention 

The program also coincided with the first anniversary of Madam Jasor’s ascendency to the Presidency of the organization having been elected on Saturday, November 13, 2021 as the first person to be so elevated to that position from both River Gee County and the Southeastern part of the country.

The theme of the program was, “Lead a peaceable life in all Godliness and Honesty”

The Spiritual and Administrative Heads as well as some of those who graced the very successful program and were acknowledged by the President included,  The Rt. Rev. Dr. G. Victor Padmore, Bishop, Lutheran Church of Liberia, Rev. Dr. Thomas Tolbert Jallah, Rev. Deddeh Howard Kollie, Pastor in Charge of Good Shepherd Lutheran Church and Advisor and Convention Guidance Counselor, Rev. Philip Nusahnn, Pastor in charge of the Peaceful Lutheran Church, Sis. Naomi Ford-Wilson, Former General Secretary of the Lutheran Church of Liberia , who served as the Keynote speaker, District Dean, MDLCL, Rev. Mulbah Flomo Zayzay, Pastor-in-Charge, Reed Memorial Church, Millsburg Township, Sis. Theodosia B. Scott, President, NLCWF, Sis. Sando Sumo, Acting Parish President, Rev. J. Lewis McCay, Asst to the Bishop, Bro. Mulbah Golayan and Sister Veraline S. Wilson, Head, Convention Preparatory Committee.
