LP-USA Honors Political Leader Sen. Lawrence -With Lifetime Humanitarian, Distinction in Leadership Awards

Opposition Liberty Party  branch in the United States of America has bestowed two  befitting awards on Senator Nyonblee Kangar-Lawrence, the political leader of the party and two other stalwarts of the party for various reasons at a summit organized in Allen Town, Pennsylvania.

According to a dispatch from the party in the US, Senator Lawrence was given two awards, the Lifetime Humanitarian Award in recognition of her work done through her Mobile Clinic Project, Women Empowerment and Robotic Program and the second award was for Distinction in Leadership.  The organizers said the senator over the years has been sponsoring students from Grand Bassa County to attend the annual Robotic Competition in the United States as well as single handedly running different programs and initiatives for Empowerment Women.

Though no details were given about what must have informed the organizers’ decision to accord her the recognition for distinction in leadership,  pundits belief the award will not be unconnected to the exemplary leadership she has exhibited to reposition and the rebranding of the party after the death of its founder and political leader, Cllr Charles Walker Brumskine, especially holding an extraordinary national convention where new corps of officers were elected as well as her leadership role in the Collaborating Political Parties(CPP) where she presently serves as Chair.

In similar token, the Liberty Party Branch also honored Senator Abraham Darius Dillon for being a towering figure in the country’s polity and Legislative Advocacy. The award to the party stalwart is coming on the heels of the dynamism he has been able to introduce in the upper chambers of the national legislature after defeating the ruling establishment, the Coalition for Democratic Change (CDC) twice in a relatively short time interval. He has been referred to as the LIGHT for highlighting key issues in the senate as well as with governance in the country.

The third award went to Mr. Jacob Smith, which the organizers stated for being a longtime LP devotee, founding member and a long serving Secretary General of the party.

Both Senator Dillon and Smith were not present at the occasion but their awards will be brought to Liberia and subsequently presented to them.

In remarks while receiving the awards, Senator Lawrence thanked the organizers of the summit and said the partisans appreciate what they had demonstrated, stressing that the unique organization of the summit means a lot given the unfolding events in the party and, that the summit could not have come at a better time than this when partisans must show love and support. She assured the partisans that the Liberty Party will rise up in oneness and make decisions to move forward.

Meanwhile, it was reported that Senator Lawrence also met with Chapters of the Unity Party (UP) and the Alternative National Congress (ANC) in the USA, in an effort to solidify cohesion among constituent parties of the CPP and inform her judgment on the ongoing consensus building process for the Standard-bearer ship of the CPP.
