LP New Leadership Convenes First Retreat -Sets Out For Good and Transparent Party Structure

When he was elected Chairman of the second largest opposition political party – the Liberty Party, Mr. Musa Hassan Bility proclaimed that “the Liberty Party was about to explode to prominence.” Bringing truth to his promise, Mr. Bility has started to take step to fulfil this dream starting with an epic retreat of the National Executive Committee of the party in Monrovia.

At an introductory statement, Mr. Bility restated his desire to rebrand the party and to sell it to the Liberian people as it take the leadership of the collaboration of political parties. “We want to thank you for attending this special retreat were we are going to decide the modus oprandi of our party, how we are going to restructure our party and how we are going to reach out to the rest of the our country.”

Mr. Bility implores members the National Executive Committee, “As you know since we took office our task is to rebrand the Liberty Party, reach it out to the Liberian people; put in place a good and transparent administrative and financial structure and a sound decision making mechanism that will resonate with the Liberian people.”

According to him, “We want to tell you thank you and congratulate you once again for our election, and assure ourselves, our partisans and the Liberian people that the Liberty Party is about to explode on the Liberian political scene in a new way with the sole objective of being the example of how political party should be manage going forward.”

The retreat was attended members of the newly elected National Executive Council, including Vice Chairperson for Administration – Rugie Barry; Vice Chair Operations – Elder Jallah, Vice Chair for Inter Party & NEC Affairs – Augustine Fredricks; Vice Chair for Political & Legislative Affairs Abraham Darius Dillon, , Vice Chair for Press & Public Affairs Daniel O. Sando, and Vice Chair for Planning Policy & Program James M. V. Yougie.

Others are Cllr. Kuku Y. Dorbor, Vice Chair for Gender & Social Policy; Cllr. Powo C. Hilton, Vice Chair for Legal Affairs; Philip Suah, Vice Chair for International & Diaspora Affairs; and Normanlyne Bendu Barclay, Vice Chair for Membership.

The rest are Prince Toles, Vice Chair Mobilization; Agacius Coker, Vice Chair Auxiliary Services; Dr. Marcus Spears, Vice Chair for Health & Educational Policy; Martin S. Kollah, National Secretary General and Wadei Powell, National Treasurer.

Salient issues pertaining to the rebranding and growth of the Party, while strategy of reuniting members of party and outreach were prime on the agenda.

The rebranding of indefatigable Liberty Party under the watchful eye of Chairman Musa Hassan Bility start now, and all are welcome on the new train built on courage, respect for all hard work and visions to deliver CPP 2023, a stalwart who was impressed about the news of the newly inducted Executive Committee for retreat said.

The stalwart who wants to remain unnamed pointed out that the starting of the Bility leadership is impressive, adding that when this leadership style continues, Liberty party could build a formidable force within the ranks of the CPP.
