Liberian Charity Pays Entrance Fees for 100 Students – Kear Humanitarian Foundation Says it’s Beacon of Hope

MONROVIA – A Liberian philanthropist, Christopher Kear who is Chief Executive Officer of the Kear Humanitarian Foundation recently paid the entrance registration fees for 100 students at the University of Liberia.

Valued at L$300,000, this initiative reflects the foundation’s unwavering belief in education as a tool for transformation and economic mobility.

A KHF release said this act of generosity offers more than just financial relief—it provides renewed hope.

“In a time when corruption continues to undermine the progress and well-being of Liberia’s most vulnerable populations, the Kear Humanitarian Foundation has emerged as a shining beacon of hope,” the release stated. “Dedicated to empowering the underprivileged and uplifting entire communities, the foundation has proven to be a critical lifeline for those left behind by broken systems and neglected promises.”

The Foundation said its efforts are anchored in four key focus areas: Health, Education, Agriculture, and Sanitation/WASH. With a hands-on, community-based approach, the Kear Humanitarian Foundation continues to make measurable impacts across these sectors.

In the St. Paul Bridge community, the foundation built and donated a fully furnished two-bedroom house to a struggling family.

This project, valued at over US$6,000, provided more than just shelter—it restored dignity and security to a household that had lost both.

The release also said, recognizing the transformative power of education, the foundation currently sponsors over 25 students at Bishop Richard West International School in the Sheffin Belt.

The sponsorship goes beyond tuition, encompassing full educational support: school fees, shoes, backpacks, uniforms, PE suits, and school supplies—amounting to over L$1,000,000.

Through this initiative, the foundation is not just supporting students—it is nurturing the future leaders of Liberia.

Access to clean water remains a major challenge in many Liberian communities. In response, the foundation constructed and donated a community hand pump in the Battery Factory area, an initiative costing over US$1,200. This project has significantly improved public health and hygiene in the area by providing reliable access to safe drinking water.

Beyond education and infrastructure, the foundation extends its reach into healthcare. From covering hospital bills to providing emergency medical assistance, the Kear Humanitarian Foundation ensures that those facing urgent health crises are not left alone. These timely interventions have saved lives and alleviated the financial burdens of countless families.
