In recognition of the education policy of President George Manneh Weah which has seen an increased number of students being enrolled in higher institutions of learning in the country, the outgoing Vice Chairperson of the Liberia Anticorruption Commission (LACC), Cllr. Kanio Bai Gbala has averred that President Weah is a champion of education and progress and deserves to be reelected in the first round, says more than 10,000 students are currently enrolled in various public universities and colleges in the country.
Cllr. Gbala thanked President Weah for the opportunity to serve but said he was exceedingly glad to be free now to articulate the successes of the Liberian government
Speaking when he appeared on the popular radio talk show Face the Issues on Freedom FM 87.9, Cllr. Gbala eloquently pointed out the major achievements of President Weah.
Amongst the many achievements of the CDC government, Cllr. Gbala pointed out among other things, the increase in the salaries of university teachers from LD40, 000 to USD1800. He mentioned the increase in enrolment at the university from 12, 000 to 22000 as a result of the free tuition policy instituted by President Weah as well as the increase in doctors salary from 800 to 2000usd under President Weah. He also pointed out the comfortable borrowing position of the Liberian government as a result of sound financial management policies.
Cllr. Gbala concluded by asserting that President Weah will be overwhelmingly reelected because the Liberian people know and can feel the difference and will not be derailed by detractors.
