As the clock ticks closer to the D-Day for Liberia’s biggest opposition bloc to showcase to the public who will lead them as Standard Bearer on the ticket of the Collaborating Political Parties (CPP), the Alternative National Congress (ANC) political leader Alexander Cummings is leaving no stones unturned to convince the populace that he is the right man for the job; the one who can dethrone the Weah hegemony. Making his case Monday when he toured the ANC new headquarters on the Old Road, at VP Road Junction following the interactive meeting with the CPP leadership at a local shindig, Mr. Cummings, who is expected to go against former Vice President Joseph Nyuma Boakai in the pending CPP primary processes, has urged the Liberian people to remain focused and be assured that under his watch, governance will be different and better.
“You deserve a better Liberia and I promise you, it is possible. Change starts from the top and as your leaders; we must set the examples and do things differently,” Mr. Cummings stated.
Speaking to a cross section of residents of the Old Road Community who had trooped to see the new ANC headquarters, Mr. Cummings who was joined by the ANC National Chairman Senator Daniel F. Naatehn and other Executives of the ANC assured supporters and community dwellers who came out to greet and welcome them of his excitement that Liberians are happy to get involved with the party’s activities.
“I feel reassured that Liberians honestly want a different country and a new kind of leader. I hear the need for a different kind of leadership every time I meet with market women, Pen-Pen riders (motorcyclists), working men and women, and people from every part of the country. Our message that we cannot keep doing the same things and electing the same kind of leaders and expect the country to change, is resonating,” Mr. Cummings noted.
“I want to urge you all to remain focused and be assured that we will lead differently and make Liberia better. You deserve a better Liberia and I promise you, it is possible. Change starts from the top and as your leaders; we must set the examples and do things differently.
“As we prepare the HQ, don’t forget to stop by and make it your new home. The ANC is open to all Liberians and it’s a party where Everybody is Somebody. Our tent is big and we welcome all of you!” the ANC political leader and one of the CPP revolving chairpersons stated.
