“Evil Has Besieged the Land” -Dee-Maxwell Kemeyah Critiques Current Administration

MONROVIA – In a heartfelt address during a Thanksgiving Service held at the Forky Klon Jlaleh Family Fellowship Church, Amb. Dee-Maxwell Saah Kemeyah Sr., the Political Leader of the opposition Movement for Economic Empowerment (MOVEE), expressed his grave concerns regarding the current administration’s alleged disregard for the welfare of its citizens. Ambassador Kemeyah’s remarks shed light on what he described as a pervasive climate of “evil” that has encroached upon the nation, calling into question the government’s commitment failure to address the needs of the Liberian people.

“The situation for Liberian citizens is dire,” Ambassador Kemeyah stated emphatically. “Imagine a citizen fighting for his own life while the administration, which is supposed to serve and protect its people, is instead fighting against him for a job they have no stake in.” His comments highlight a troubling dynamic where he feels the government is failing in its fundamental duty to support its constituents.

In a deeply personal moment, Ambassador Kemeyah reflected on the support he received during his recovery from a serious health issue, emphasizing that former President George Weah’s outreach played a significant role in his recovery. “It was by the Grace of God, alongside the care and concern from people like former President Weah, that I stand before you today,” he expressed, underscoring the importance of compassion in times of hardship.

Acknowledging the difficult realities faced by many Liberians, including poor infrastructure and ongoing social challenges, Ambassador Kemeyah urged citizens to remain discerning. “Do not listen to false complaints and empty promises. Our roads remain in disrepair, and we continue to see tragic losses in our communities, issues that were once attributed to the previous administration but have persisted without redress,” he noted.

Drawing on Biblical references, Kemayah remarked that the six years under the current administration feel disproportionately lengthy compared to the Israelites’ 430 years in Egypt, suggesting that the time feels burdensome given the current hardships. Yet, he chose to echo a message of hope, affirming, “We have hope, and it lies in God and in the vision of a selfless leader, a vision I believe former President Weah embodies.”

Amb. Kemayah’s remarks resonated with many attendees, reinforcing the sentiments of those who yearn for a political shift and a renewed commitment to public service in Liberia. He also took the opportunity to assure his supporters of his unwavering dedication to their cause, expressing gratitude for the love and support his family has received throughout his recovery journey.

The Thanksgiving Service, attended by MOVEE executives and well-wishers, served not only as a celebration of Kemayah’s return but also as a rallying point for those seeking accountability and reform within the Liberian government.
