MONROVIA – The European Union, in partnership with the Government of the Republic of Liberia, will host the inaugural EU–Liberia Business Forum in Brussels on 24–25 February 2026 under the theme: “The ARTS in the ARREST – Invest in Liberia 2026.”

The Forum marks a significant milestone in strengthening economic and trade relations between the European Union and Liberia. It reflects the shared commitment of both partners to promote sustainable investment, deepen commercial ties, and advance Liberia’s economic transformation agenda. The Forum forms part of Liberia’s broader economic diplomacy and investment promotion strategy, with the support of the European Union.

The event will highlight investment opportunities exceeding One Billion Euros across the priority pillars of Liberia’s ARREST Agenda: Agriculture; Forestry, Fisheries, Roads and Energy Infrastructure; Trade; Tourism; and Sanitation. These sectors present strong potential for inclusive growth, job creation, and sustainable development.

The EU Liberia Business Forum will bring together senior government representatives, European and Liberian investors, private sector leaders, financial institutions, academia, business support organizations, development partners, and members of the Liberian diaspora. The programme will feature high level plenary discussions, sector specific sessions, and structured networking opportunities designed to facilitate partnerships and generate concrete investment outcomes.

The Forum aligns with the goals of the EU–Africa cooperation framework and the EU’s Global Gateway Strategy. It seeks to promote responsible, sustainable investment for long-term economic resilience and shared prosperity, while also highlighting the opportunities of “Everything But Arms” (EBA) which grants Liberia duty-free, quota-free access to the EU market for all products except arms and ammunition.

The European Union looks forward to welcoming participants to Brussels for what promises to be a landmark event in EU-Liberia economic relations and a catalyst for strengthened business cooperation.
