CSOs-Partners for Democracy & Good Governance to Petition Swedish Embassy today

A conglomeration of Civil Society human rights and Prodemocracy campaigners, organized under the umbrella of “Partners for Democracy & Good Governance (PdG)” will on Monday, September 14, 2020, present petition statements to the Government of Sweden, through its embassy accredited near the West African Capital, Monrovia.

The Partners for Democracy & Good Governance (PdG) in a press release, indicated that its petition is being prompted by growing apprehensions of emerging fragility of existential threat to human security, peace, and democratic governance, particularly within the MRU basin, and the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS).

It can be recalled that at least 10 pro-democracy Civil Society Organizations (CSOs), recently signed a ten-count Memorandum of Understanding (MOU), in Monrovia to promoter strategic collaboration through advocacy to foster national and regional security and peace consolidation, and concomitantly promote democratic governance, adherence to, and respect for the rule of law as well as regional integration and development.

Prominent CSOs, including the Better Future Foundation (BFF), Foundation for International Dignity (FIND), Rural Human Rights Activists Program (RHRAP), the Press Union of Liberia (PUL) and the New African Research & Development Agency (NARDA), among others are key actors of the Partners for Democracy & Good Governance (PdG) Initiative.
