MONROVIA: The Movement with Integrity for National Development (MIND) has expressed its unwavering support to the ascendency of Deputy Speaker Fonati Koffa to the office of Speaker of the 55th National Legislature just as it indicated that its support is occasioned by the overwhelming reality of experience, discipline, integrity, people centeredness and demonstrate excellence in public service that Deputy Speaker Koffa brings to the fore in the 55th Legislature.
“Our painstaking analysis of Representative Koffa’s years of services as a Representative for the people of District #2 Grand Kru County before ascending to the Deputy Speaker position has proven his capability and experience coupled with his service in the private sector as a dependable and respected Lawyer that makes him an ideal candidate for the office of speaker for the 55th Legislature. These experiences are buttressed by several remarkable community services which paved the way for his election as a Law maker”, the group said.
According to MIND Executive Director, Sekou D. Sonii, Representative Koffa served with distinction, integrity, and responsibility, commanding for him public respect amongst colleagues and for his expertise and accountable style of leadership over the years.
The CSO group said with demonstration of decency and experience in both the public and private sectors encapsulates accountability and trustworthiness as well as transparency in the use of public authority which projected him for the Speakership election.
In the light of how Deputy Speaker presented himself over the years which endeared him to his colleagues to prefer him as an alternative for the office of the Speaker for the 55th Legislature “We declare our unquestionable support for him as the well suited candidate for post.”
The group opine that his contenders are a reputational mismatch to him as the group said it has observed that his contenders, knowing their faults and having deficits in upholding public trust, have commenced dollarization of the process to blind-fold their colleagues from the reality of their ineptitude and lack of integrity.
They therefore called on incoming members of the House of Representative to avoid being manipulated by those who are contenders to Representative Koffa for the Office of Speaker for the 55th Legislature considering that the Grand Kru County legislator is the suitable candidate for the post.
“Conclusively, we strongly urge colleagues of the honorable man to act rightly by voting Hon. Koffa for the position as a way of upholding the public respect and decency of the office of speaker of the 55th legislature,” the release signed by Rickie Jackson Sekou D.
