China-Africa Think Tanks Forum Opens Today in Beijing -To Brainstorm on Development

The 11th Meeting of the China-Africa Think Tank Forum geared towards promoting the spirit of China-Africa Friendship and Cooperating with Joint Action on the Global Development initiative opens today Wednesday, July 20, 2022 at Zhougliu Hall, Chinese Academy of History in Beijing being hosted by the Secretariat of the Chinese Follow Up Committee of the FOCAC with the Organizers and Co-Organizers being the China-Africa Institute and the Institute of African Studies at Zhejiang Normal University and the Peking University Center for African Studies. According to a dispatch from the venue of the event, the program will be held under the chairmanship of Prof. Li Xenfeng, Executive President and Senior Research Fellow of the China- Africa Institute while the Vice Minister of Foreign Affairs, Deng Li will deliver the opening speech for the commencement of activities where a good number of delegates mainly from the academics in Africa and China as well as former government officials and technocrats will be in attendance.

On the second day, there will be a plenary discussion under the theme, Belt and Road Initiative and China –Africa Cooperation on Financing for Development and feature up to 10 speakers both from China and Africa to be followed by visitation to the Exhibition on China-Africa Exchange Achievements and watching the promotional videos respectively on Made in China at the Zhejiang Normal University and Jinhua City, while there will be a launching program for the China-Africa Exchange Museum later in the day.

The event will come to an end with a another plenary session under the theme, “Global Development Initiative and the AU Agenda 2063 which will be moderated by Professor Wang Xiaoming, Vice President and Professor at the China-Africa Institute with a number of speakers taking to the podium to discuss issues.

On the final day, there will be another plenary discussion under the theme, “Spirit of China-Africa Friendship and China-Africa in the New Era which will be moderated by Chen Yang of the Peking University Center for African Studies and will as well have a number of speakers to deliver papers.
