MONROVIA – The Sirleaf family and other relatives of fallen Liberian statesman Charles Eugene Sirleaf as released the official schedule of burial, announcing Monday, June 17 when the Book of Condolence will be opened.
In a statement, the Sirleaf, Donzo, Bernard and Allied families announce with profound regrets the death in his sixty-seventh year of Honorable Charles Eugene Sirleaf, former Deputy governor for operations, Central bank of Liberia, who died Monday June 3, 2024 in Accra, Ghana after a brief period of illness.
The protocol announced include singing of the Book of Condolence Monday June 17th 2023 at the First United Methodist church beginning 10 am.
At 3.00 pm, the family says, the body will be removed from the St Moses Funeral Parlour following an hour of viewing and chapel service, and at 4.00 pm the remains of Hon Charles Sirleaf will depart from St Moses Funeral Parlour to the First United Methodist Church on Ashmun and Gurley Streets for a night vigil.
It is during the vigil which will be from 6.pm to 9 pm that all tributes, except those in the funeral souvenir program, will be paid during the Virgil.
Prior to the removal of the body on Monday, the Congo town Residence of his mother H.E Mrs. Ellen Johnson Sirleaf, will receive friends, sympathizers and family. That will be Saturday, June 15th at 7:00 pm where a night of reflection and review of some of his off-mike singing will be held for close friends and family.
Then on Tuesday June 18th 2024, funeral services will take place at the First United Methodist Church on the Corner of Ashmun and Gurley Streets from 9.30 am to 11.00 am.
