After a competitive bidding process amongst various construction companies, the Joint Legislative Committee on Rules, Order and Administration has awarded the Delta Construction Company a US$ 1.34 million contract to renovate the Capitol Building which houses both houses of the national legislature which is expected to give the structure a new facelift.
According to Hon. Johnson Gwaikolo, who Chairs the House Committee on Rules, Order and Administration, the scope of work on the contract agreement includes roofing, painting both in and out of the building, water system, bathrooms and lighting system.
Others include the renovation of the Chambers of both Houses, the William R. Tolbert Jr Joint Assembly Hall, air conditioning system, security booths amongst others.
The completion of the renovation is expected to end March 2022.
