Wolokolie Unveils Ambitious Plans for Liberia’s Future -Says His New Party Will Nationalize Gold, Diamond Sectors
MONROVIA – Mengistu Wolokolie’s unveiling of the True United Party’s (TUP) ambitious agenda for Liberia marks a significant moment in the country’s political landscape, as the opposition leader attempts to position himself as a viable alternative to the incumbent government. By pledging to nationalize key sectors, increase the minimum wage, and implement universal healthcare, Wolokolie is staking a claim on the populist and nationalist sentiments that have resonated with many Liberians disillusioned with the current state of affairs. However, the feasibility and funding of these promises remain uncertain, and it remains to be seen whether Wolokolie’s vision can translate into concrete action and tangible results, especially given the country’s history of unfulfilled campaign promises and governance challenges. The ANALYST’S MATTHEW TURRY reports.

“Liberian citizens who are 65 years of age or older and disabled citizens whose disabilities prevent them from working will receive a monthly payment of $275.00 to $350.00 USD.
