As the government continues to strive for quality education at all levels, Vice President Chief Dr. Jewel Howard-Taylor, has commended the Administration of the Blue Crest University College, a private institution for complimenting the EDUCATION FOR ALL component of its Pro Poor Agenda for Prosperity and Development.
The Vice President stated since its establishment in 2015, the Bluecrest University College continues to provide the requisite education intended to build the skills of the youthful population of the country.
She expounded that technical education in information communication technology remains an integral part of developing the skills of Liberians; noting that many young people continue to enroll in the institution and the performance index shows the graduates working towards the development of various sectors of the country.
In a special statement she delivered while dedicating the new campus of the institution in Congo Town, Monrovia, VP Howard-Taylor described the facility as a major step forward in expanding access to education and praised the BlueCrest family for the investment. She added that the government will wholeheartedly welcome the expansion of technical education facilities in the country for the overall development of the population.
As a suggestion for BlueCrest to expand its program to enhance quality education in the country, VP Taylor called on the administration to partner with the various community colleges in the country, a measure that will help to prepare the young generation of the country, especially ICT education.
She gave the assurance of the commitment of the government through the National Commission on Higher Education (NCHE) to do all the necessary assessments and technical validation process to ensure BlueCrest gets all the legal frameworks for full scale operations of their respective programs in the country.
VP Taylor asserted the necessary basic legal frameworks will not only strengthen the Blue Crest University College to operate all its educational programs in the country, but will set standards of excellence to eliminate negative vices that are hampering the growth process of the education sector.
She stated that every development partner of the country will continue to receive the full support from the President George Manneh Weah led government and people of Liberia as the process of Liberia’s renewal is on and every development partner will continue to receive the full support of President George Weah and his government including the people of Liberia.
