MONROVIA – The Centrism Movement has officially announced this Saturday, November 22, 2025, as the date for the formal launch of its nationwide civic and political engagement activities.

In a statement issued under the signature of its Chairman, Cllr. Kanio Bai Gbala, the Movement revealed that the day’s events will begin with a Grand March for Peace and Consciousness, followed by an indoor ceremony at the Monrovia Christian Fellowship Hall in Sinkor. The launch marks a significant step in the Movement’s mission to promote balanced leadership, national unity, and a new era of issue-based political engagement in Liberia.

The event is expected to draw supporters, community leaders, civic actors, students, professionals, and Liberians from diverse political backgrounds who believe the country needs a new path—one grounded in moderation, constructive dialogue, and inclusiveness.

According to the Movement, participants will assemble at 12:00 noon at the Vamoma House Intersection in Sinkor. From there, they will march in a coordinated peace procession to 9th Street, culminating at the Monrovia Christian Fellowship Hall, where the indoor ceremony will begin promptly at 1:00 PM.

To create a unified visual identity, attendees are encouraged to wear their Centrism-branded T-shirts. Those who do not have one are invited to wear red, white, or blue T-shirts symbolizing Liberia’s national colors and the Movement’s commitment to unity. Organizers emphasized that this show of solidarity is crucial at a time when political polarization remains a concern in the country’s national discourse.

Held under the theme “Building an Inclusive Liberia for All, Void of Destructive Political Orientation,” the launch is positioned as a defining moment for the Centrism Movement. The organization presents itself as an alternative political voice committed to bridging divides, strengthening governance, and promoting civic responsibility. Its mission centers on peacebuilding, issue-based politics, social cohesion, and responsible leadership beyond partisan lines or ideological extremes.

Cllr. Gbala noted that the Grand March for Peace and Consciousness is both symbolic and educational. Beyond its visual impact, the procession seeks to raise public awareness about the Movement’s philosophy of peace, inclusivity, and centrism, reflecting the aspirations of many Liberians who desire a more cooperative and forward-looking political culture.

During the indoor ceremony, leaders of the Movement will formally unveil its vision, governance structure, objectives, and long-term strategy. The program will feature keynote remarks, presentations on the Centrism ideology, cultural performances, and calls for deeper citizen involvement as the Movement begins its structured engagement with the public.

Cllr. Gbala—a renowned Liberian lawyer, Assistant Professor of Law at the Louis Arthur Grimes School of Law, and an avid friend and foreign policy supporter of the United States—has consistently championed democratic governance and the rule of law. His views are shaped in part by his studies at the Claude W. Pettit College of Law at Ohio Northern University, where he deepened his appreciation for principled leadership and the strengthening of U.S.–Liberia relations.

He has also been an active supporter of President Joseph Boakai’s reform initiatives, including the signing of performance contracts by public officials, which he believes are vital for improving government accountability and efficiency. Cllr. Gbala sees these reforms as fully aligned with the Centrism Movement’s vision of a more effective and responsible public sector.

He added that the Movement is open to Liberians of all backgrounds who share a commitment to a peaceful, inclusive, and forward-leaning Liberia.
