Sen. Snowe Gets Dual Nominations For ECOWAS Missions -For Global Counter Terrorism Confab in Turkey and to Observe Cote d’Ivoire October ’25 Elections
MONROVIA – Bomi County Senator Edwin Melvin Snowe, Jr., who also chairs the Committee on Political Affairs, Peace, Security and APRM of the ECOWAS Parliament, has been seconded to form part of the Parliament’s delegation to participate in the Global Parliamentarian Conference on Counter Terrorism and the Prevention of Violent Extremism in Istanbul, Turkey, from October 7-8, 2025.
According to a letter dated September 30, 2025, from ECOWAS Parliament Acting Chairperson K. Bertim Some and addressed Senator Snowe, his nomination was issued by the Speaker of the ECOWAS Parliament, Madam Hadja Mémounatou Ibrahima.
Organized by the United Nations Office of Counter-Terrorism (UNOCT), the Conference allows parliamentarians to identify lasting solutions and make a parliamentary contribution to global efforts in counterterrorism and the prevention of violent extremism, with robust action and a real impact on communities, particularly the victims of terrorism.
Observer Mission to Cote d’Ivoire
Meanwhile, ECOWAS Speaker Madam Ibrahima has also nominated Senator Snowe as part of the Parliament’s delegation who will be participating in the ECOWAS Observer Mission to the Republic of Cote d’Ivoire.
The ECOWAS delegation Mission to the Republic of Cote d’Ivoire, with the mandate to observe the October 25th general elections in that country.
