PLP Plans First Nat’l Convention -To elect standard bearer, national and county officials

The Opposition People’s Liberation Party (PLP) has announced to its members, officers and the general public of its first national convention slated to be held from November 26-28, 2021 and climax on November 29, 2021 with festivities at the Cassell’s Estate located in Schieffelin Township, Margibi County, Liberia

According to a press release from the party and signed by Mr. Tapple E. Doe, Organizing Committee Chairman, registration of candidates will take place between November 10-15, while election of county officials will be held between November 12-13, 2021 and election of national officials will be on November 27, 2021

The release further said that positions to be contested for include the Standard bearer, national chairman, national vice chairman for administration, operation, political affairs, mobilization and recruitment, religious affairs, auxiliary affairs, international affairs, Persons with disability, Media Relations, membership, Gender and Social Development.

Others are National Secretary General, National Treasurer, National Chair for Women Assembly, National Chair for Youth Assembly. Secretary General for Youth Assembly, Secretary General for Women Assembly, County Chairmen/chairpersons, Vice Chairman for Administration/County and all other elected positions.

The release also added that all candidates at national level must pay retroactive monthly due beginning from the time they became member and that all candidates at county level must pay retroactive monthly due from the time they became member

The release also stated that the registration of candidates will be at the national headquarters of the party and that the election will be held at a hall within the premises of the Cassell’s Estate. It also said that an election committee will be set up to handle the whole electoral process.
