In an effort to improve Menstrual Health and Menstrual Hygiene Management amongst Adolescent Girls and women in Liberia , the Public Health Initiative Liberia(PHIL) under the HerWash SRHR project with funding from Global Affairs Canada through Water Aid Liberia conducted a National Female Influencers training workshop for women leaders in Executive and Legislative branches of government in Liberia with the goal to identify, engage and inform National Female influencers at National government level to Champion Menstrual Health as an entry point to learning of Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights (SRHR) .
According to Miss Joyce L. Kilipo, Executive Director/CEO of PHIL, the training which was conducted from February 24-25 , 2022 at Murex Plaza, covered topics such as Introduction to Menstrual Health and Hygiene Management , Beliefs , Norms and Restrictions on Menstruation, menstrual practices , Menstrual products and the Importance of investing in Menstrual Health while sharing government interventions in others countries . She said the participants were presented 7 advocacy Asks to work with PHIL which covered Menstrual Products , Knowledge and Information, Health services , Breaking the Silence , Wash Infrastructures and Coordination
At the close of the training participants were certificated as National Menstrual Health and Hygiene Management Champions.
PHIL is a local nongovernmental organization founded in 2011 by some Liberian Health Professionals to contribute towards the effectiveness of the health care delivery system in the country through leadership , partnership, innovation, advocacy and empowerment.
