iMOFAWA Condemns Minister Kemayah, Demand Apology -For Meddling in China’s Affairs

The Independent Workers’ Association of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (iMOFAWA) has said in reference to the noninterference principle that guides the behavior of States in international affairs it was publicly condemning Mr. Maxwell Kemayah for meddling in the internal affairs of the People’s Republic of China by signing the joint statement which was critical on the human right records of China and called on him to publicly render apology to the government and people of China.

In a press statement issued yesterday, Wednesday, November 17, 2021, the organization said it has come to its attention that the Government of the People’s Republic of China through its Embassy accredited near Monrovia is seriously exasperated with the Government of the Republic of Liberia on recent actions executed against its reputation and interest by the Minister of Foreign Minister of the Republic of Liberia, His Excellency Dee Maxwell Saah Kemayah, Sr.

The statement said that it can be recalled that in October 2021, forty-three (43) nations, including the Republic of Liberia signed a cross-regional joint statement condemning the human rights situation in the Chinese territory of Xinjiang. iMOFAWA has gathered from its research that Liberia is the ONLY African nation with diplomatic ties with the People’s Republic of China that signed the joint statement.

“The Worker’s Group has further been informed that prior to October 2021, the Chinese Government through a Diplomatic Note requested Liberia’s support on a Joint Statement highlighting the principle of non-interference in other countries internal affairs at the Third Committee of the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA) that took place in New York, USA on October 21, 2021. Information available to us shows that Minister Kemayah declined Liberia’s support to the People’s Republic of China contrary to what was decided by the senior management team of the Ministry. Minister Kemayah also failed to give Liberia’s support to China on a resolution “promoting international cooperation on peaceful uses in the context of international security” as was requested. ”the statement said

The iMOFAWA has further discovered that Minister Kemayah is engaged in these acts to salvage his broken relationship with the American Government to drop the sexual abuse and violence crimes carried out against two females (one domestic staff and a local staff at the Liberian Permanent Mission) he abused while serving as Liberia’s Ambassador/Permanent Representative to the United Nations. We have also discovered that Minister Kemayah has been soliciting financial rewards from the Taiwanese authority through the Foreign Minister of the Vatican to intensify Liberia’s support against China’s international interests.

According to the release, the iMOFAWA has further discovered that Minister Kemayah is engaged in these acts to salvage his broken relationship with the American Government to drop the sexual abuse and violence crimes carried out against two females (one domestic staff and a local staff at the Liberian Permanent Mission) he abused while serving as Liberia’s Ambassador/Permanent Representative to the United Nations. We have also discovered that Minister Kemayah has been soliciting financial rewards from the Taiwanese authority through the Foreign Minister of the Vatican to intensify Liberia’s support against China’s international interests.

“It further said that the Liberian Foreign Minister has been having a ‘pledge of support’ conversation with the Vatican’s Foreign Minister, H. E. Mr. Nikos Dendias, since his visit to Italy for the U.N Food Summit in August 2021. The Minister has been financially tipped to negotiate a possible Liberia-Taiwan relationship with the Weah administration. This financially brokered deal has seen Kemayah embark on his personal interest over the general Liberian interest in Liberia’s diplomatic corridor.

“Liberia and China have enjoyed cordial and beneficial diplomatic relationships with mutual respect for many decades, resulting in tangible development projects and technical assistance. The ongoing actions by the Liberian Foreign Minister have placed Liberia’s diplomatic relation with the Chinese Government in a VERY DARK spot.

“iMOFAWA wishes to call on the nation’s Chief Foreign Policy architect to see this elementary attitude of Minister Kemayah as decimating Liberia’s diplomatic image with the Chinese Government and ask for his swift intervention to safe the nation’s reputation with a bilateral friend that has done so much in our development success story”, the release stated.
