Founding Father of Bethel Visits Liberia Next Week

After months of spiritual quarrel over the change of name by leaders of the Church, from Bethel World Outreach Ministries International to Harvest Ministry International, the founding Father of Bethel Full Gospel Church Apostle Natt Friday is expected to arrive in Liberia next week.

Meanwhile according to the Head of Communication of the Bethel Full Gospel Churches International Rev. Patrick Wleh said Apostle Friday will participate in an international conference hosted by the Bethel Full Gospel churches Liberia and will be held at the Bethel Miracle Christian Church in Caldwell.

Rev. Wleh noted that the conference which begins on May 12, 2021, will bring together several Bethel Churches from Montserrado, Lofa, Bong and other parts of Liberia. Noting that during the conference, Apostle Friday will conduct morning and afternoon teaching sessions to be followed by revivals in the evening hours.

The Head of Communication Rev. Patrick Wleh also furthered that the teaching sessions will be attended by Bethel Pastors, other Pastors and church leaders from other denominations from across the country and on Saturday May 22, Bethelites will take to the principal streets of Monrovia to reaffirm their commitment to the church and the vision.

Some months ago, there was spiritual quarrel over the attempts by some of its leaders to change the name of Bethel World Outreach Ministries International to Harvest Ministry International, a development took a different turn when pastors of the denomination and their respective congregations resisted the move by the overseer of the Church, Bishop Darlington Johnson.

Bishop Johnson has been the head of the Bethel World Outreach Ministries International since its formation in 1986, who for unspecified reasons wants the name of the church changed to Harvest Intercontinental Ministries, a move which was met with strong resistance from various pastors and their respective congregations, an action which got the backing of the founding father Apostle Natt Friday, insisting that the name Bethel Outreach ministries International remain and continue to run their churches as Bethel.

Meanwhile, as a result of the tussle over name change, there are now two factions among the Bethelites. While those who resisted and got the support of the founding father Apostle Natt Friday remained with the status quo as Bethel World Outreach Ministries International, the other group that supported name change with Bishop Darlington Johnson changed their name to Harvest Ministry intercontinental.

Bethel Full Gospel Church was established on March 17, 1986 with Apostle Natt Friday as its Incorporator. Apostle Friday, a Liberian and a devoted preacher of righteousness, currently heads a Bethel Church in Robinsdale, Minnesota, USA.
