Dillion Fails To Secure Bond -But Released On Personal Recognition

MONROVIA – Senator Abraham Darius Dillion of Montserrado County  who was sued by the National Chairman of the Liberty Party, Musa Hassan Bility for action of damages for wrong,  libel and slander by attachment failed to secure his bond in compliance to the writ issued him but was allowed to leave based on personal recognition from his lawyer, Cllr. Augustine Fayiah who stood for him but with a condition that he will report to the court on a daily basis until he can file his bond

The Senator, accompanied by his lawyer Cllr. Augustine Fayiah and his Political Leader Senator Nyonblee Kangar-Lawrence  appeared at the Civil Law Court on the grounds of the Temple of Justice, on Monday, January  31, 2022 to respond to the writ of summons filed  against him from the court .

According to our reporter who covered the event, Senator Dillion spent over one hour and thirty minutes in the Sheriff’s office on the  bench negotiating with the Court for his release since he could not secure a bond  of $2 million dollars or equivalent of property value at the court

Senator Dillion who spoke to reporters thereafter, said, “I am a respecter of the law therefore I am willing to take advantage of the law and act in accordance with the Court’s decision to report to the Court every day until I can secure a bond”, he stated.

The LP Lawmaker indicated that the matter will be reached and stretched to the legal and logical conclusion, adding he will take it to the full weight of the law and he is ready for the battle.

‘’Those statements that I made, we are in court now and trust me, this is the last bus stop. Let me make this clear, Musa Bility is not Liberty Party (LP) chairman and so let us not make this like it is LP and BIlity rather Dillon verse Musa Hassan Bility.  I am a Senator and this is a civil matter and I respect the court and came here and thereafter, all the other legal processes, constitutional privileges and everything will be followed. These are interesting times and trust me, Musa Bility has stepped on the last toes’’ the Montserrado County Lawmaker stated..

Speaking earlier after their conference at the Civil law Court in the Sheriff’s office, Clllr. Arthur Johnson, lawyer representing Mr. Bility said Senator Dillion’s  lawyer stood for him to secure his release since he did not have the $2 million dollars bond fees but with a mandate or instruction from the court to report every day until he can file his bond.
