AFL Commences Recruitment for Female Candidates

The Armed Forces of Liberia (AFL) is to begin a pre-recruitment training for only female Liberians. The pre-recruitment training will take place from Monday, November 22, 2021 – Wednesday, December 13, 2021 at the Barclay Training Centers (BTC) in Monrovia.

According to a press release from the Ministry of National Defense and signed by Mr. Sam K. Collins, Assistant  Minister for Public Affairs, the eligibility requirement include being a citizen of Liberia, be a high school graduate or an equivalent of vocational education from an accredited vocational institution or have a first degree and above, be fully vaccinated against the COVID-19 virus, be between the ages of 18-35, and professionals shall be at most 40 years of age and should be cleared of any human right abuses or violations

The release warned that nobody is allowed to pay money, exchange goods and services or whatsoever for recruitment. Participation in the pre-recruitment training is voluntary and free, just meet the requirements as considered above. It also said that the pre-recruitment training exercises are intended only for female candidates residing in Montserrado County while the national recruitment drive to  kick-off later.

The release stated also that there will a Nationwide Recruitment Drive. The National recruitment drive is expected to take place in four geographical regions of the Republic of Liberia which it named as Central Region which include Montserrado, Grand Bassa, and Margibi Counties with recruitment center at the Barclay Training Center, the Western Region has Grand Cape Mount, Bomi and Gbarpolu with recruitment center at Tubmanburg City, Bomi County while  Northern Region has  Lofa, Bong and Nimba Counties with recruitment center at the Gbarnga Sports Stadium in Bong County and the  Southern Region has Grand Gedeh, River Gee, Maryland, Grand Kru, Rivercess and Sinoe Counties with recruitment center at the Zwedru Multilateral High School in Grand Gedeh County.

The release further said that the Ministry and the AFL are considering and prioritizing the recruitment of persons with professional civil specializations in such areas like Medical specialties/practitioners, Engineers of all categories, Lawyers, Maritime professionals, Agriculturists. Information Technology Specialties, Band/Music and Morticians.
