Anthony Myers Takes Over MFDP as Acting Minister

MONROVIA: President Joseph Nyuma Boakai has appointed Anthony Myers as the Acting Minister of Finance and Development Planning.

In a communication to the acting Finance Minister, date July 9, 2024, President Boakai said he was pleased to appoint Mr. Myers with “immediate effect”.

“I trust that you will perform your duties as Acting Minister with utmost diligence, courage, loyalty and integrity during this crucial period of transition as we strive to stabilize the economy and put our country on the path to sustained growth, development and prosperity,” the President said.

Hon. Myers’ appointment follows the resignation of outgoing Finance Minister Hon. Boima S. Kamara, who served his country from January-July 2024.

However, Hon. Anthony Myers, prior to his official appointment by the Liberian leader, serves as the Deputy Finance Minister for Fiscal Affairs.

His appointment is subject to confirmation by the Liberian Senate.
