UP Holds Extraordinary Convention Today -Sen. Wesseh, Others Vie for National Chairmanship

The die will be cast today as the former ruling party goes to elections for the next national chairman who will lead the activities of the Unity Party within the framework of the Collaborating Political Parties. River Gee County Senator Conmany B. Wesseh is among four prominent Liberians that will be contesting the UP national chairmanship at 12:00 pm today, Tuesday, September 8, 2020 at the party headquarters in Congo Town during an Extraordinary Convention.

“Let me formally inform you that I am offering myself for the Chairmanship,” Senator Wesseh informed The Analyst recently.

The seasoned diplomat and lawmaker will be going up against businessman Amin Modad, former legislator Worlea-Saywah Dunah and former National Investment Commission Executive Director George G. Wisner, II in a highly contested race.

It is also reported that Unity Party current Secretary General, Mo Ali will contest the position of the party’s Secretary General.
