Weeks after the removal from offices its national chairman Wilmot Paye and two other officials, the People’s Liberation Party (PLP) has appointed a founding member of the party, Mr. Tapple E. Doe as its Acting National Chairman.
Mr. Paye, Henry Sackie and Kansualism B. Kansuah, National Chairman, National Vice Chairman on Political Affairs and Secretary General of the party respectively were removed from their offices for alleged acts not conformity with the party’s constitution and bylaws.
At an occasion to receive more than 500 new partisans, Tuesday, August 31, 2021 at the Party’s National Headquarters in Congo Town – Monrovia, the Master of Ceremony (MC) introduced Mr. Tapple Doe as the People’s Liberation Party new Acting National Chairman, meaning Acting Chairman Doe is now given the mantle of authority to steer the affairs of the party ahead of the party’s pending national convention.
Acting Chairman Doe who spoke briefly, thanked the new partisans for decision made to join the PLP and said the party welcomed them in good faith. He added that they make no mistakes to join the party because the PLP is a party that do not discriminate against its members, assuring them that PLP is the only alternative to liberate Liberia.
“I thanked you for coming and believing in the vision of the PLP. This party brings to the political landscape solutions to Liberia [age old problems)” Mr. Doe said. He then called on all to work together for the success of the party.”
Mr. Doe assured the partisans that PLP is organized responsibly in order to win the admiration, respect, and confidence of all Liberians including the young and old, the haves and the haves-not, as well as the educated and the uneducated.
He pointed out that the People’s Liberation Party aims at bringing about positive change that will impact the lives of all Liberians.
Some partisans who spoke to newsmen described Mr. Doe as a down to earth executive who reaches out to partisans.
Prior to his ascendency as PLP National Chairman, Mr. Doe served as the organizing Chairman of the party and was subsequently announced by the Political Leader of the PLP as National Chairman for Administration and Finance.
Also speaking at the occasion, the political leader of the PLP, Dr. Daniel E. Cassell, bashed at those he referred to as recycled Politicians who he said have brought hardship on the majority of Liberian people and caused country’s backwardness.
Dr. Cassell branded them as ‘self-servant politicians’ who only ascend to power to serve themselves and their families, without care for the people that entrusted power to them.
He told the new PLP recruits that the party has come to provide the masses liberation from self-centered national leaders, saying the PLP is where the voiceless have voice, where change is imminent with all the partisans’ hands on deck, working to bring about the change that will better the lives of the people.
He observed that young people, including women and children are not able to go to school because of bad politicians, stressing that a true servant is a public servant who work for the people and do all what it takes to make the people live better.
“The People’s Liberation Party was established just because of you, the less fortunate, marginalized and the forgetting; you that they called good for nothing,” Dr. Cassell said, indicating that he has felt the same situation in time past and has a struggling history and has therefore come back to assist the people.
