MONROVIA – The citizens of Zoe Gbao Administrative District #7, in collaboration with the United Sisters Organization of Bahn Beagehlay City, Nimba County, over the weekend petitioned their son Liberty Party Chairman Musa Hassan Bility to represent them in the House of Representatives.
Making their intentions known on Saturday, July 30, 2022 at an elaborate ceremony in Nimba County, the citizens declared their intention to vote for Mr. Bility in the 2023 Presidential and Legislative Elections because, according to them, he is a resourceful, impactful, respectable, admirable, cherished and kind-hearted son of District #7, Nimba County, worthy of their fullest support to contest for the position of Representative seat for District #7, Nimba County in 2023.
“We are, therefore, very determined and committed to putting to his disposal and to the disposal of his campaign for the position of Representative of District #7, Nimba County; our time, resources, energies and ourselves to ensure his successful election,” the citizens vowed.
According to the petition statement, the citizens declared: “Whereas we have soberly reflected, clearly realized and fully recognized that the quality of representation of District #7, Nimba County, at the Liberian Legislature determines how our communities and District attracts, benefits from, and enjoys our fairest share and entitlement of the national cake from the coffers to address our bread-and-butter issues of health, education, roads, agriculture, etc.,
“Whereas for too long, Electoral District #7, Nimba County has not had the needed infrastructure developments that will benefit the citizenry;
“Whereas we, the citizens of the district, acknowledge that the best thing to do for ourselves, our children, our children’s children is to ensure that the substance and quality of our citizens but not ethnicity should matter in the forward march of our District, County, and Country;
“Whereas we have understood that nothing worthily tangible and realistically achievable can be obtained and attained in District #7, Nimba County, without proper, qualified, competent, and people- centered leadership;
“Whereas we have observed that poor leadership of the district will harm the interest of the district and its citizens and residents;
“Whereas we are aware that who decides at the Liberian Legislature and the Nimba Legislative Caucus what the district gets and benefits from will determine what the district gets and benefits from;
“Whereas we are knowledgeable about the fact that a leader with the heart and mind for his or her people and their advancement and development but not his or her immediate family is what the District seriously and urgently needs now more than ever before;
“Whereas we are committed to ensuring that we gain and maintain our rightful places within the family of districts in the Republic of Liberia but not be treated like a District without resourceful and results-oriented leadership;
“Whereas we are squarely cognizant of the fact that unity in diversity is central to the advancement of a people and their societies;
“Whereas we are determined to commit the unfortunate issue of selfish and self-centered leadership to the past, especially in the trash can of the history of our District;
“Whereas we are fully energized to open a newer and better page for generous, people-centered and developmental oriented leadership;
“Now, therefore, and in view of the aforementioned among others, we have resolved to petition Honorable Musa Hassan Bility, a resourceful, impactful, respectable, admirable, cherished and kind- hearted son of District #7, Nimba County, to competitively and with our full support contest for the position of Representative seat for District #7, Nimba County, Republic of Liberia in the October 2023 Legislative and Presidential Elections.
“We are, therefore, very determined and committed to putting to his disposal and to the disposal of his campaign for the position of Representative of District #7, Nimba County; our time, resources, energies and ourselves to ensure his successful election.
“Done this 30th day of July AD 2022 in the city of Bahn, Zoe-Gbao Administrative District, Zoe-Geh Statutory District, Nimba County, Republic of Liberia, signed by more than three thousand citizens of Zoe-Gbao Administrative District and is hereby submitted to Honorable Musa Hassan Bility,” the petition stated.
