News Public Trust Hits The Newsstands Monday

Liberian broadcast journalist Frank Sainworla, Jr launches Public Trust Media Group (PTMG) in print as a newspaper in addition to its online service. The print edition of Sainworla’s the Public Trust Media Group will hit the Liberian newsstand on Monday, March 2, 2020.

Headed by Mr. Sanworla, former Station Manager of the Catholic owned Radio Varitas, the Public Trust Media Group is a multimedia outlet committed to promoting the public good and upholding the public’s trust.

The launch of the print/hard copy edition comes two years after the www.newspublictrust.com website was established. It was during this period that it won the Press Union of Liberia (PUL) best Online Newspaper of the Year—2019/2020 for its balance and credible coverage of news and information from across Liberia.

In a press release of February 27, Journalist Sainworla said the launch of the print edition comes weeks after his news outlet received permit from the Ministry of Information to operate a daily newspaper in Liberia in January this year.

But in the wake of the dire economic conditions in the country, he said that News Public Trust Newspaper will initially appear twice weekly on the market—Mondays and Thursdays. And it will gradually roll out into three times a week and subsequently daily.

Exclusively funded by personal resources of Journalists, we are risking our meagre resources in investing into the local media industry at this time, due to our life-time commitment to furthering good Journalism.

As an independent newspaper, News Public Trust will be void of political and ideological cleavages and the management hopes that Liberian and international residents will patronize it, the press release signed by the founder & managing editor/senior managing partner said.
