New Stated Clerk Inducted at Presbyterian Church

MONROVIA – The Presbyterian Church of Liberia (PCL) on Sunday, December 11, 2022 inducted into office Stated Clerk, Rev. Cornelia Greene-Wesley and Assistant Stated Clerk, Rev. George W. Tugbeh at the Monrovia Presbyterian church on Broad Street.

Accepting her induction, the elected Stated Clerk, Rev. Cornelia Greene-Wesley, on behalf of her team expressed an overriding desire to serve the church, stating that through the abiding grace and mercy of God, she and her team will endeavor faithfully to discharge their duties.

She noted that upon taking charge, she is conscientiously influenced by a sincere desire to promote the glory of God, and the good works of the Presbyterian Church of Liberia.

Stated Clerk, Rev. Cornelia Greene-Wesley further expressed thanks and appreciation to the entire Presbyterian Church for entrusting her with the position, noting, “it is not a difficult task to hold office, but the difficulty lies in efficiently doing the work of the office.”

Inducting the officials-elect into office, elect, the former Moderator of the Presbyterian Church of Liberia, Rev. G. Boimah said the PCL members have elected them into their respective positions so they can ably administer the affairs of the Church.

“You are the overseer of Christ’s flock. You will be their guide and leader and they will follow you as they see you follow Christ. You are a shepherd of the Church which he purchased with his own blood, and you will respond to the master’s command: ‘feed my sheep, feed my lamb’. This will require on your part diligence in study and fidelity in the care of your people,” she noted.

The former Moderator observed that no calling is higher for the Lord Jesus, and whosoever will be entrusted with the mysteries of God must uphold the work and worship of the Church that He who is the great head of the Church may be glorified.

In remarks the Secretary General of the Liberia Council of Churches, Rev. Christopher Wleh Toe, expressed gratitude on behalf of the LCC to the Presbyterian Church of Liberia for the smooth transfer of office.

He pledged the LCC President’s commitment to working with the PCL new officials.
