NEC Certificates JNB, Koung Today -Following Nov. 14 Runoff UP Alliance Victory

MONROVIA: Following an intermittent delay due to his recent visit to the United States of America, President-elect Joseph Nyuma Boakai, along with this Vice President-elect Jeremiah Kpan Koung will be duly certificated by the National Elections Commission (NEC) of Liberia on today Wednesday, 11:00 am at the James F. Fromoyan Conference Hall on 9t Street.

In accordance with established protocols that demand the NEC to duly certificate all winners of the 2023 presidential and general elections, President-elect Boakai and his second-in-command Koung will be formally certificated today, following a postponement of the process that was necessitated by the auspicious absence of the Ambassador Boakai from the country.

It can be recalled that President-elect Boakai recently returned to the country following a two-week hiatus to the USA where he and his entourage held strategic meetings with key global financial institutions, potential investors and high-ranking members of the US Congress.

The official certification program occasions Mr. Boakai’s inauguration on January 22, 2024, setting the pace for a smooth democratic transition.
