NEC Affirms New CPP Framework Document -New CPP Ready for 2023

MONROVIA – In what is being described as a decisive victory for the new Collaborating Political Parties, the National Elections Commissions (NEC) on 20 September 2022 acknowledged receipt of the amended CPP Framework Document, thus finally clearing all hurdles for Liberia’s newest and biggest opposition bloc to resume its normal business of politicking within and outside of Liberia.

According to the 20 September 2022 massive from NEC Chairman Davidetta Browne Lansanah to CPP Chairman Musa Hassan Bility, a copy which is in the possession of this paper, the electoral body acknowledged receipt of the Collaborating Political Parties (CPP’s) Framework Document submitted to the Commission on 22 August 2022, and the supporting reliance submitted on 12 September 2022.

“Upon review, the Commission wishes to inform you that the CPP’s amended framework document is lodged, thereby replacing the earlier framework of July 2020,” Madam Lansanah stated unequivocally to Mr. Bility.

The acknowledgment of new CPP framework document by the national electoral body comes in the wake of the solemnization of a new CPP marriage between the Liberty Party (LP) headed by Musa Hassan Bility and Alexander Cummings’ Alternative National Congress (ANC), which saw the two remaining CPP constituent parties signing the amended CPP framework document on Tuesday, August 23, 2022, and Friday, August 27, 2022, and presented the amended and signed copy of the new CPP framework document to their partisans and supporters as well as the public at a colorful ceremony held at the National Headquarters of the LP in Sinkor.
