The skylines of one of Liberia’s backward provincial capital cities, Tubmanburg, is currently glowing with an elegant business center that has sprouted during the George Manneh Weah presidency, thus giving that war-ruined community an adorable facelift. The country’s premier pension hub, the National Social Security and Welfare Corporation (NASSCORP) has brought public service in real time to a rural populace, relieving them the ordeal of travelling to Monrovia to assess critical services. While on his tour of Bomi County, specifically in the capital Tubmanburg, President Weah dedicated the huge stylish office complex, as The Analyst reports.
President George Weah, as part of his activities earmarked during his visit in Bomi County, cut the ribbons to open the newly constructed Regional Headquarters of the National Social Security and Welfare Corporation (NASSCORP).
The building stunned visitors as it towers so gigantically in an ideal, sloppy location of the provincial capital Tubmanburg.
Staffers told an entourage of visitors headed by President Weah that the building’s private and public services will cover Bomi, Cape Mount and Gbarpolu Counties. It also contains banking facilities that will be used by the SIB Bank.
The management further explained while the financial institution will be serving NASSCORP clients in the region, it will also facilitate transactions of citizens and residents of the counties.
The new structure will also accommodate NASSCORP staff and those of the SIB Bank. The rental fees from the use of the building, according to the managers, will be paid to NASSCORP coffers.
The construction started in 2018.
Dedicating the building, President Weah who seen visibly delighted, stating that the opening of the building was the first of its kind in that part of the country.
He said that the building will open a lot of economic opportunities in the area and assist the government to achieve its objective of financial inclusion in the country.
He praised the management of NASSCORP and the contractors for delivering the project on time.
The Liberian leaders took a tour of the building which is put at $400,000.
“The construction of this regional hub of NASSCORP is a major deliverable for this government and it will boost the economy and will bring social security to the people”, a senior staff of NASSCORP told journalists at the dedication ceremony.
