In a press release issued yesterday, Tuesday, May 31, 2022, from the renowned group and signed by its leader Sekou D. Sonii, MIND said they based on their call on the professional background, competence, qualification and her stewardship exhibited over the period she has been acting as head of a very important government entity, the Liberia Telecommunications Authority (LTA)
“Notwithstanding, the Movement with Integrity for National Development (MIND) wishes to have the attention of the Republic of Liberia in Dr. George M. Weah to give due consideration to the Liberia Telecommunication Authority as this entity is one of the fundamental organs that has the potential to pilot the agenda of the Coalition for Democratic Change (CDC) regime in line with its political mantra “Change for Hope”. The Movement with Integrity for National Development believes with a permanent appointment, Madam Edwina Crump Zackpah would be a valuable asset to the CDC hegemony with the telecommunication sector being that prime beneficiary to have as its head an individual with worthwhile experience and moral discipline in Madam Edwina Crump Zackpah”, the release said.
The group said that it holds in high esteem the scholarship of Madam Edwina Crump Zackpah to preside over that sacred entity dressed by law to provide supervision over the telecommunication sector of the republic, the Liberia Telecommunications Authority ( LTA).
“To have a grasp of the erudition of Madam Edwina Crump Zackpah, is to acquire information on her over decade of professional experience in both the public and private sector. MIND also mentioned Madam Zackpah’s tenure at the Liberia Telecommunications Corporation (LIBTELCO) where she served as the Director of Administration from 2008-2011, a period of approximately 3 years with honors.
“Holding these factors as they are and the challenges she faces as acting Chairperson of the entity, its consequential to utilize the competence of Madam Edwina Crump Zackpah at the Liberia Telecommunication Authority (LTA) repudiating her current status and granting unto her a permanent chairpersonship, we believe this would serve as a motivating factor to the well-experienced and seasoned acting Chairperson of the Liberia Telecommunication Authority (LTA) as she endeavors to revamp and redefine to meet the interest of the Liberian populace the Liberia Telecommunication Authority”.
The group had also expressed its overwhelming support to the president of the Republic of Liberia, Dr. George Manneh Weah, for his continued search and appointment of individuals with shared vision for the implementation of his government’s developmental compass (Pro-Poor Agenda for Prosperity and Development) as he seeks to deliver the Liberian republic and its approximately five million populace from the abyss of misery to the echelon of prosperity and development.
“MIND views the president’s action worthwhile and in the best interest of the state, it is a responsibility of every individual who assumes the authority to steer the affairs of the Liberian republic to have a corps of official who are patriotic and nationalistic in words and deeds to ensuring the standard of life of Liberians is improved to an appreciable standard which is in consonance with Article 54 of the 1986 Constitution of the Republic of Liberia”, the release concluded.
