The Friends Social Organization on Saturday July 6, 2019, embarked on a massive cleaning up campaign in Monrovia as a way of buttressing the effort of the city governance in keeping the city clean.
A press statement quoting the President of the organization says the campaign is expected to run for three months in the cities of Monrovia and Paynesville.
This campaign, according to President Momoh B. Siryon, is intended to give members of the organization the opportunity to make their own contributions to the communities.
The first day of the campaign started in the Old Road community ending up in the oldest Congo town.
The release said, the leadership of the FRIENDS Social Organization disclosed that, medical materials worth little over US$1,000.00 were made to several clinics in order to empower health workers at those facilities to work on the sick who had gone for treatment.
The medications, the organization said is their way of contributing positively to the medical need of Liberians who are challenged to meet medical treatments in clinics or hospitals.
However, the organization commended the management of Itter Pharmacy for their partnership for providing the medications.
The release quoting group president, Momoh Siryon commended the Chief Executive officer of Itter Pharmacy Nabil El Etter for his prompt intervention.
He called on well-meaning Liberians, NGOs to follow the good examples of the pharmacy to form partnership of with the The FRIENDS Social Organization to identify with the needy.
He disclosed that a committee has been setup to meet the leaderships of the Monrovia City Corporation and the Paynesville city to form a partnership ahead of the August edition of the cleaning up campaign.
Meanwhile, the organization commended all those who made contribution to complete the 2018/2019 scholarship payment of kids benefiting from the organization scholarship.
The release disclosed that about 70 less fortunate kids benefited from the scholarship program that is being operated by THE FRIENDS.
The organization was established to identify and encourage everyone in society, to also promote peace and unity, and create fraternal love amongst members.
To engage and fight against ills that may be equivalent to destroying our present and incoming generation and to undertake meaningful projects among others.
