MONROVIA – The National Chairman of the opposition Liberty Party, Musa Hassan Bility, says despite being troubled by the current court action instituted against him, he is optimistic and confident in the judicial system, and that his legal team will emerge victorious at the end of the day.
Speaking to the media when he appeared at the Monrovia City Court on Tuesday February 8, 2022 for hearing into the case brought against him by Liberty Party Political Leader Senator Nyonblee Karnga-Lawrence and other bigwigs of the party, Mr. Bility as a strategy orchestrated by Senator Nyonblee Kanga-Lawrence and Senator Abraham Darius Dillion to keep the party recklessly down and prevent the Liberty Party from making its presence felt in the 15 sub-political division of the country.
According to Chairman Bility, those that took him to court have no case against him but they are only doing all this to limit the party’s operation and keep it recklessly down.
Chairman Musa Bility further disclosed that since he took office as Chairman of Liberty Party, he has well-laid out plans for Grand Bassa County and these are the plans that those that brought him to court are trying to prevent.
“All those that brought me here have done nothing in Grand Bassa County. They are afraid of us, therefore, they are preventing us from taking over the developmental agenda of the county. The truth never stays underground. It says in the Bible “the truth crushed to earth will rise again,” Chairman Bility stated philosophically.
It can be recalled that sometime last week, the magistrate of the Monrovia City Court, Judge Jomah S. Jallah issued a writ of arrest for Liberty Party Chairman Musa Hassan Biility and Secretary General Martin S. Kollah for crimes of forgery, criminal conspiracy and criminal facilitation due to a complaint filed by some partisans of the Liberty Party.
The mandate from Magistrate Jomah Jallah to captain Larry Gormoryor, magistrate police and his deputy for the writ of arrest for Musa Hassan Bility and S.G Martin Saye Kollah was due to a request from plaintiffs Romeo Coker, Jeremy Russell and Napoleon Weah, who alleged that the defendants have committed forgery, criminal conspiracy and criminal facilitation.
The write of arrest instructed magistrate police Captain Larry Gormoryo and his deputy to: “to arrest the living bodies of Musa Hassan Bility and Martin S. Kollah, to be identified defendants and forthwith bring them before the Monrovia City Court to answer to the crimes of forgery, criminal conspiracy and criminal facilitation.”
According to the writ of arrest against Chairman Bility and Martin S. Kollah, plaintiff Romeo Coker and others alleged that during the period of January 2021, in Gbanga, Bong County, Musa Hassan Bility and Martin S. Kollah being there and then with the intent to deceive the membership and partisans of the Liberty Party as well as the public, convinced and conspired and purposely, criminally and intentionally did alter the constitution of the Liberty Party after its convention and submitted the said documents to National Election Commission knowing fully well that they were not authorized to do so do, neither were they the conveners of the said documents convention with wicked and criminal intent.
