MONROVIA: A circular to heads of line ministries, agencies and Commissions from the office of the Comptroller and Accountant General, Ministry of Finance and Development Planning has been issued and is requesting the submission of dummy payroll by the 10th of every month, says the office of the Comptroller and Accountant General is currently working on the timely processing of salary payments before the 15 of every month
Signed by Comptroller and Accountant General Elwood T. Netty and approved by Finance and Development Planning Minister Boima S. Kamaara, the Circular dated February 9, 2024 noted that the dummy payroll should be submitted by the 10th of every month to allow for scrutiny and adjustments before the Ministry can commence with the processing of payrolls.
Accordingly the Communication Unit of the MFDP has issued a press release referring to the Ministry of Finance and Development Planning (MFDP) official directive to all governmental agencies to submit their current or dummy payrolls by the 10th of every month for thorough scrutiny and necessary adjustments.
The press release reiterated that the directive is part of proactive measures indicating the government’s commitment to improve fiscal management and ensure the punctual disbursement of salaries to all government employees.
The move reflects the dedication of the government to uphold transparency and accountability within its financial operations, the Ministry said.
Accordingly, the Ministry instructs all agencies to comply with the deadline set by the MFDP to facilitate a smooth process, assuring agencies of government that “this step is crucial in enhancing the effectiveness of payroll management, thereby ensuring that hardworking public servants receive their salaries early and without discrepancies.”
