Dismissed Agriculture Minister Dr. Mogana Flomo, Jr., has debunked statement attributed to Bong County Electoral District#3 Representative Josiah Marvin Cole to the effect that the former minister was dismissed due to ineptitude, inexperience and lack the necessary qualifications to serve the position as Agriculture Minister, Writes D. Patrick Tokpah
But to the contrary, Dr. Flomo rubbished the claims of the lawmaker, saying that he successfully completed a Doctorate of Engineering degree in Chemical Engineering with emphasis in Environmental Analysis at the Atlantic International University, accredited by the Accreditation Service for International Schools, Colleges and Universities-ASIC.
Addressing a welcoming program organized in his honor on July 20, 2019 by the Bong County Gospel the former Agriculture Minister said the ASIC accreditation is an internationally renowned quality standard for Colleges and Universities, adding ASIC is a member of CHEA international quality group in the USA.
He further clarifies that due to his eagerness for education, he successfully completed a Doctorate of Philosophy PHD in higher education technology at the Silenus University of Science and Literature, Roseau Walley, Commonwealth Dominica, Italian Branch.
At present, Dr. Flomo said he has completed Dissertation for the award of a third doctorate, a PHD in Public Health, from the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology in Ghana to help train people in Liberia and other parts of the World.
The former Liberia Agriculture Minister boastfully said he is currently a PHD student at the EUCLID University, where he is studying Sustainable Development and Diplomacy, maintaining the EUCLID, also called Pole Universities Euclid University is an international intergovernmental organization with a University charter established in 2008.
“It has its Headquarters in The Gambia and in the Central African Republic, but also maintains an executive office in Washington DC USA. I’m the founder of the Center for Environmental and Public Health Research (CEPRESS) Inc., out of which we now have the CEPRESS International University in Gbarnga. CEPRESS International University is accredited by the National Commission on Higher Education and the International Academic and Management Association with headquarters in Delhi, India,” he said.
Additionally, Dr. Flomo revealed that there was serious fight in Bong County to remove him from office because people expected too much too soon, and they felt that he was eating money from the Ministry and refusing to let them have a share.
“They told me many times that I was selfish, and only cared for myself. They asked me to sack citizens of the county who were in certain positions and I didn’t do it. Those they wanted me to sack were James Kamara, District Agriculture Officer (DAO) in Bomi; Lawrence Flomo, District Agriculture Officer (DAO) in Bomi; Randolph Kolleh who served as my Special Assistant and Moses Gbeyan, Regional Agriculture Coordinator,” he explained.
He said he had no reason denying citizens from getting opportunities where the opportunities existed, and noted that he believed in developing young people and takes pride in creating opportunities.
However, the dismissed former Agriculture Minister did not disclose the name of any local leader in the county who was demanding for more young people to be employ or sack at the Ministry.
“What puzzles me is that no leader of the county ever called me to express their regret. I’m wondering whether thy all were happy for Bong County to leave the cabinet without any reason stated,” he wondered.
