Cummings Worships At Hometown Churches

Three churches, the Grace Episcopal Church, the St. Peter’s Methodist Church and the First Baptist Church in Clay-Ashland, Montserrado County, Sunday, April 3, hosted the Political Leader of the Alternative National Congress (ANC), Mr. Alexander B. Cummings offered special prayers for him and for the peace and stability of Liberia.

Clay-Ashland is the native land of Mr. Cummings where his father Mr. Alexander Cummings served as first Rector of the Grace Episcopal Church, established in 1853.

Clergymen of the three Churches including the Rector of the Grace Episcopal Church, Rev. Andy B.K. Davies, the St. Peter’s United Methodist Church Pastor James F. Cooper Sr. and First Baptist Church Pastor,  Rev. Anthony Morris extended warmth welcomed to Mr. Cummings and entourage for his homecoming and worshipping with them.

The Rector of the Grace Episcopal Church, Rev. Andy B.K. Davies,’ sermon focused on the need for Accountability and Transparency, in every organization including the Church and government.

Rev. Davies for his part said Accounting and Transparency are critical to the effective management of God abundance resources  bestowed on Liberia, without which he said tt is impossible to continue to enjoy God’s bountiful resources and the St. Peter’s United Methodist Church Pastor James F  Cooper Sr  spoke on total surrender and trust in God in the face of trials and tribulations.

The Pastor of First Baptist church, Rev Anthony Morris on the other hand offered special prayers and God’s blessings upon Liberia.

Following the Church services, Mr. Cummings and entourage were feasted to a sumptuous lunch by the Grace Episcopal church at riverside center in Clay-Ashland.
