“CPP Framework Document Was Never Altered”—Martin Kollah -Says Greed, Selfishness And Power Behind CPP Problem
Liberty Party Secretary General Martin Saye Kollah has dispelled widespread allegations by the All Liberian Party of Mr. Benoni Urey and the Unity Party of former Vice President Joseph Boakai that the Collaborating Political Parties (CPP) framework document is a product of fraud.
Mr. Kollah debunked the claim that the CPP framework document was altered by the Political Leader of the Alternative National Congress (ANC), Mr. Alexander Cummings when he spoke on SKY FM on Tuesday, May 10, 2022, where he stated that he served as Co-Chairman of the drafting committee and also member of the Advisory Committee of the four Collaborating Political Parties(CPP), comprising the Unity Party, the All Liberian Party, the Alternative National Congress, and the Liberty Party.
Mr. Kollah said the crisis in the CPP erupted due to greed, selfishness, and struggle for political supremacy by the Unity Party former Vice President Joseph Boakai who felt entitled to being the Standard bearer of the Collaborating Political Parties(CPP) in the 2023 elections. The LP SG emphatically stated that even the famous “Exit” clause was inserted in the CPP framework document by a team of lawyers and approved by the core group made of the UP, ALP and the LP, which he claimed was a conspiracy mainly targeted at the ANC Political Leader, Mr. Cummings.
Kollah told Liberians in a national broadcast, that the Exit clause, was targeted to prevent and disenfranchise Mr. Cummings, who was suspected would breakaway from the CPP due to dissatisfactions that could arise from denying him to contest for the Standard Bearer of the CPP. The CPP core group, Kollah maintained, was suspicious of Cummings at every stage during the formulation of the framework document, that he would breakaway and considering his financial potential and track record, the exit clause was inserted unknown to him to prevent and disenfranchise the ANC in the 2023 elections.
The LP Scribe said the CPP crisis can and will only be resolved, should the ANC Political Leader accept former Vice President Joseph Boakai as its Standard Bearer without going to a convention, contrary to the CPP framework document. He said the same greed, selfishness, and political supremacy has haunted and caused the deep split within the LP, caused by its former Political Leader, Grand Bassa County Senator Nyonblee Karnga-Lawrence.
He concluded that politics of deceptions, greed and certain politicians feeling absolute entitlement to leadership and control formed the basic reasons for the political crisis that has caused the near collapse of the CPP and the LP.
