MONROVIA: On Friday, July 14th, Fixer-2 honored the ongoing National County Meet Quizzing Tournament with her presence, a tournament being hosted by the Liberia National Students Union (LINSU). On the occasion, she was given the space to present the Most Valuable Player (MVP) award to a player from Grand Gedeh County, and she used the occasion to speak about the brilliance of Liberian students and their ability to compete on the international stage, something she personally experienced.

Later the same day, in a remarkable display of commitment to women’s empowerment, Cllr. Charlyne M. Brumskine, the Vice Standard Bearer of the Collaborating Political Parties (CPP), paid a surprise visit to Clay Street at a popular spot called “Under the Tree”, a spot known for its excellent hair design in the area of hair-plating. This visit marked a significant milestone in the CPP’s campaign for the upcoming elections, as Cllr. Brumskine engaged with scores of women, highlighting their invaluable contribution to society and promising substantial support for their entrepreneurial endeavours. With a strong emphasis on recognising the struggles faced by women and their pivotal role in shaping families and communities, Cllr. Brumskine unveiled an ambitious plan of the CPP presumptive government to allocate $20 million for entrepreneurship within the first 100 days of the Cummings Presidency. This sheds light on the extraordinary initiative and emphasizes the importance of voting for the Cummings-Brumskine ticket.

Investing in Entrepreneurship

The CPP VSB, Fixer-2, intimated that the primary way to empower women is by supporting their entrepreneurial aspirations. Cllr. Brumskine’s announcement of a $20 million investment in entrepreneurship within the first 100 days of a Cummings Presidency is a testament to the CPP’s dedication to economic prosperity and gender equality. By providing financial resources, training, and mentorship opportunities, this initiative aims to enable women to establish and expand their businesses, thereby creating a ripple effect of positive change within their families and communities.

The Impact of Entrepreneurship on Women’s Empowerment

The learned Councillor, the Dux of Liberia Supreme Court Bar Test, 2022, stresses that Entrepreneurship has the potential to profoundly impact women’s lives. By fostering economic independence, it allows women to break free from the chains of dependency and assume leadership roles within their households and beyond. While standing under the huge downpour of rain, joyously interacting with the women, she mentioned that when women are economically empowered, they gain the confidence and resources to make decisions that shape their lives and influence the lives of those around them. Moreover, women-led businesses contribute to the overall economic growth of a nation, promoting stability and prosperity for all. Cllr. Brumskine’s pledge to invest in entrepreneurship reflects a visionary understanding of these benefits and a commitment to harnessing women’s potential for the greater good.
