Will Koffa Resign Before Boakai’s SONA? -Sources Hint of Attempts to Tie Speaker to Capitol Building Fire

MONROVIA – As the date for President Joseph Nyuma Boakai’s State of the Nation (SONA) delivery approaches, wherein the Liberian leader will perform his constitutional obligation by addressing the nation through the National Legislature, a peculiar and compounding political dilemma is now staring the administration stark in the face, with the embarrassment of having to entertain two House Speakers at that historic occasion. Against this unprecedented backdrop, The Analyst has been credibly informed of attempts by state security apparatus to link embattled Speaker J. Fonati Koffa to the Capitol Building fire as a means of forcing him to resign before the President’s SONA.

According to well-placed security sources, an employee of Speaker Koffa was arrested last evening and taken by four National Security Agency personnel to an unknown destination to be tortured after police had failed to find any evidence linking to the Capitol fire.

“Yes, we can confirm that one of the Speaker’s staffers, one Thomas Erheridge, was nabbed by four NSA agents last evening, and his whereabouts are presently unknown,” the source disclosed,” adding that the motive is to torture Erheridge into producing a forced confession.

It is also alleged that an operative assigned with Speaker Koffa was questioned by state security, and that they are questioning anybody associated with the speaker.

“The aim is to have Fonati resign before the President’s SONA because the authorities feel that the Speaker will spoil the SONA. If he doesn’t resign, they will charge him so he cannot be at the SONA,” the source said, noting that the entire government hierarchy is in a panic mode about what could be the diplomatic implications of having two speakers at the SONA.

Meanwhile, attempts to corroborate the information proved futile as state security authorities contacted failed to respond to queries.

CDC’s Alvin Wesseh Arrested

In a related development, former Assistant Minister Alvin Wesseh has been arrested by the Liberia National Police in regards to the Fire Incident at Capitol Building. According to our police source, CDC youth league Vice Chairman for Administration was apprehended by the police last evening and his phone was seized from him. The police are investigating and will continue their arrests and investigations today.

Would you suggest starting with a free platform like WordPress or go for a paid option? There are so many choices out there that I’m completely confused .. Any ideas? Appreciate it!
