When Margibi Stood Still For CMC -As Political Leader Bility vows Development

MONROVIA – If there is anyone who believes that the support base of political base of political activities is foreclosed to the ruling Unity Party (UP) and the Congress for Democratic Change (CDC), then what happened on Saturday, November 15, 2025 in Kakata City, Margibi County must be enough to make someone to perish their thoughts for thinking as such. Honorable Musa Hassan Bility, the Political leader of the fast-rising Citizens Movement for Change (CMC) created a scene that has not happened anywhere within our political space since the conduct of the last presidential elections in 2023 and political pundits have been giving a rave review of the event with a submission that indeed there will be a “Third Lane” alternative to the traditional dominant parties in 2029. The Analyst Reports.

Since the formation of the Citizens Movement for Change (CMC) its political leader, Honorable Musa Hassan Bility, who also doubles as the Representative for District #7, Nimba County, has never taken lightly the need to create a unique niche for the institution, radically departing from the status quo of political institutions that only come on stream when elections are around the corner. Besides, his demonstrable outreach to the masses where he has made development as a cardinal language for engagement has been a phenomenon and in no small way has attracted the party to the people in droves. Honorable Bility who himself is a gifted grassroot mobilizer has seen CMC growing in size, acceptance and prominence in such a short space using strategies where others have failed to his advantage.

And so, beyond the expectation of many, on Saturday, November 15, 2025, Margibi County witnessed the largest assembly of thousands of party faithful, supporters, sympathizers and other political stakeholders, including but not limited to youth , women and student groups as well as civil society and student groups when Honorable Bility marshalled his people into the county that for a long time has been a key player in the political chemistry of the country.

Besides the pomp and pageantry that attended the ceremony, it is worthy to note that the CMC is introducing a brand-new kind of politics where a political party is embarking upon major capital projects like the modern high school in Margibi County which is to be constructed by the party and become operational in the next academic year, 2026.

What was noticeably observed was that despite its close proximity to Montserrado County where the party’s national headquarter is located, only a few persons in the Political leader’s entourage made it to the program but majority of those who attended were residents of Margibi County. This is a sharp departure from the past where politicians and political parties trucked people from one place to another to give a fake narrative. Many people are gracing their programs which is indicative of popularity and wider acceptance.

Kakata was literally shut down as commercial activities were disrupted at some other times due to vehicular and human congestion, motorbikes carrying excited youths and other residents could be seen in all corners of the city, blaring horns and playing music loud while traditional singers and dancers entertained the surging crowd.

Then all of the sudden, from a distance, emerged the man of the moment, Honorable Bility and entourage that threw the waiting crowd from both sides of the road into frenzy; the security details of the Honorable men were overwhelmed by the people who wanted to get in physical contact with him for which he accepted and melted into the embrace of the people.

Placards with various inscriptions and sizes were visibly seen, most of which were acknowledging his interest in the rapid development of communities and empowering the people. “The real development king is here”, “the talk and do honorable man”, “our incoming president”, “on 2029 we stand with Honorable Bility”, “Honorable Bility we will not forget about you in 2029 for what you are doing for Mama Liberia”, among others were seen on the various placards. Also, T-shirts in red and white colors and emblems of the CMC were all on display.

In line of the tradition, Mr. Bility was received by some chiefs and elders and presented with offering him white chicken, kola nut, and raw rice, symbols of peace, respect, and ancestral blessing and from there, the entourage proceeded to the venue of the program amidst the huge jubilation from the people.

At the program which witnessed the groundbreaking for the construction of a modern high school, the citizens praised Bility for his numerous development initiatives across the country. Madam Alice Baysah, the National Chairlady of the National Women Congress of CMC wholeheartedly welcome Mr. Bility and entourage in the county and expressed delight for his thoughtfulness to identify with the people of Margibi to undertake a major capital project which a modern high school, the first of its kind in the district.

“To our dear Political Leader of the great CMC, we say welcome to Margibi county along with your delegation. We are happy to have you here and to assure you that the people are happy with what the CMC is doing throughout the country and what she is about to do for our country. Our people are overjoyed that finally our prayers have been answered; God has sent you to us as our helper and we are happy for that. Again, on behalf of the good people of Margibi, I say welcome again”, Madam Baysah said amid thunderous cheers from the people.

Other community leaders who spoke thereafter praised Bility for the generosity he has extended to the people and prayed that the Almighty God will continue to bless him. They then presented the deal of the land to Mr. Bility for his documentation while at the same time volunteering a team of supervisors to work with the construction team when the project takes off.

Taking the stage to address the crowd, Mr. Bility likewise returned the gesture from the people for the elaborate honor accorded him and mentioned specifically Senator Nathaniel Farlo McGill and Madam Baysah who prevailed on him to look at the direction of county, promising to do whatever in his power to fulfil all promises made to the county beginning with the construction of the modern high school.

He bemoaned the low level of development in the county despite being within the proximity of the nation’s capital, Monrovia and the fact that prominent politicians and other respected people in the country originate from the county. He also stated his displeasure of people getting elected and abandoning the people only to return with makeshift projects to deceive the people for another terms as well as the games being played from the government to stop CMC from undertaking much needed projects when the said government has no plan for executing them for the people.

“For the people you elected 15 to 20 years who did nothing, to suddenly hear that someone is bringing development and then rush to bring Public Works here; something you haven’t done in

30 years, they want to do it now,” Bility said. “We are here in Margibi to shame them.”, he added and warned them against what he called last minute political gestures.

“Tomorrow they will come for you again to give them another nine years. Don’t do it oo!

Margibi—enough is enough.”, he said.

Speaking further, the Nimba County lawmaker said it is the desire of CMC to undertake major projects across the country but the level of politicization from the government has impeded the lofty efforts, adding that he was not into any competition with the government such that if there is any project he is undertaking and the government says it wants to do the same project, he will leave it and start with another on the other side of the country.

“Your road business is in the government’s hands; it’s not in my hands,” he said. “Anywhere we

go, if the government comes there, we will move and go to the next place. We cannot fight the

government”, he said.

Turning to the high school project, he said the work will commence immediately and by the opening of the next academic year, the school will be completed for the students to begin their academic journey beyond what has been offered to them. He said the CMC is not into too much of talking but will work differently with the people of Margibi in various spheres of development

“We will bring development to Margibi County. Margibi is too important for us not to have development here. And in CMC the only thing we bring is development. The only thing we bring is to build a school, the only thing we bring is to build a hospital. The only thing we will do is to build your roads, I want to tell you thank you, my heart is all yours. You have been all out in the whole day, I want to tell you thank you, thank you Margibi, to our chairlady, Madam Alice Baysah, the reason for which we are here, I want to tell her thank you, our regional chair, our Margibi county team, thank you very much. You have proven that Margibi is going to be a base of CMC, we promise you nothing but development, we will take roads to your villages, we will educate your children, we will have to do everything we have to do to make sure that you have development. I want to say thank you very much, I want to say let God bless you, and God bless the Republic of Liberia. Thank you very much”, Mr. Bility concluded his remarks with singing and dancing from the people.

Political pundits are of the view that Mr. Bility’s visit to Kakata was less about a traditional, purely electoral rally and more about a strategic developmental and political tour designed to showcase the CMC’s commitment to tangible progress and lay the groundwork for its national political revolution planned for 2029.
