MONROVIA – Political stability is sustained not only through elections and constitutional institutions but also through continuous engagement among national leaders. Mature democracies depend upon dialogue that transcends political differences and reinforces shared commitments to peace, reconciliation and national development. In post-conflict societies, such engagements often carry significance beyond ceremonial courtesy because they signal a willingness to place national interest above partisan considerations. Pundits say Vice President Jeremiah Kpan Koung Sr.’s visit to former Unity Party Chairman Wilmot Paye reflects that broader principle, and that their meeting underscores the continuing importance of constructive dialogue in strengthening cohesion within Nimba County while reinforcing efforts to promote national unity, democratic stability and inclusive development across Liberia.
