MONROVIA – ArcelorMittal Liberia (AML) is making significant strides in restoring and modernizing housing and community facilities within its operational areas, with the current spotlight on Buchanan. The Analyst has gathered that the company has completed renovations on nearly a dozen housing units in Loops 1, 2, and 3, providing safer and more comfortable living conditions for employees and their families. This initiative, corporate officials, say reflects AML’s commitment to rebuilding the Buchanan community, supporting local contractors, and investing in a brighter future for its workforce.

ArcelorMittal Liberia (AML) says it is stepping up efforts to restore and modernize housing and community facilities within its Buchanan concession, with newly completed homes already turned over to employees and additional rehabilitation works underway.

In a statement posted on its official Facebook page, the company announced that nearly a dozen housing units in Loops 1, 2, and 3 have been fully renovated. The upgraded homes, AML says, now offer safer and more comfortable living conditions for employees and their families.

According to the company, more renovation projects are in the pipeline. Homes in Loops 1, 3, 4, and 5 are now going through bidding and preparatory stages ahead of construction works expected to begin soon.

Beyond residential units, AML also plans to rehabilitate several community-use structures, including Bachelor Flat #3, the Buchanan canteen, and the Port, Rail, and Workshop canteens. These facilities serve hundreds of staff daily and play an important role in maintaining workforce welfare.

ArcelorMittal Liberia emphasized that the rehabilitation initiative reflects its commitment to rebuilding the Buchanan community, supporting Liberian contractors, and investing in an improved, sustainable environment for its workforce.

“We remain committed to rebuilding communities, supporting local contractors, and investing in a brighter future for our workforce and Buchanan,” the company noted.

The infrastructure improvements form part of AML’s broader program to upgrade its housing and operational facilities across Grand Bassa and Nimba counties as the company continues its Phase Two expansion.
